Parish Notices Sunday 11th November 2018

The Rector writes ‘ This morning there will be a short Act of Remembrance at the 9:30 Service in St John’s Church and in St Mary’s Church we will mark the exact date and time of the centenary of the 1918 Armistice by the ringing of the Bell (one peal at 10:56, 10:57, 10:58 & 10:59 to mark each year of that terrible war) followed by the Silence and a short Act of Remembrance.

Tonight at 7pm we will have a special Remembrance Sunday Choral Evensong in St John’s Church, Monkstown.  The choir will sing the soulful anthem “For the fallen” by Malcolm Archer and I will preach.Today is particularly poignant as we mark the 100 years since the signing of the Armistice and together we continue to honour those who  lost their lives in that terrible war and indeed in allviolent conflicts since then.’
