The Rector writes…”It’s that time of year again – some of our young people are facing into the Junior and Leaving Certificate exams and I think we all really feel for them. Certainly even after all these years, I still dream sometimes that I am turning over the exam paper and not understanding a word of it – classic panic dream. There is no point in telling them that it isn’t such a big deal because at this stage of their lives, it certainly IS a big deal. What we can assure them of is our prayers during the exams and our confidence that all that they have learned up until now will somehow rise to the surface on the day. They just need to breathe deeply and start writing! I have printed off the timetables for both sets of exams and each morning I intend to light the candle I was given by Carrigaline Community School as I pray about the subjects that will be faced that day. Good luck to them all’
