Parish Notices Sunday 19th May 2013
The Rector writes ‘ Today, the Day of Pentecost, we remember how the terrified group of disciples were given the wherewithal to go out into the world and declare the Good News of Jesus Christ. May we be so infused with the Spirit that we can do likewise! In St Mary’s Church today, all the visitors are infused with the heady smell of flowers, appropriately portraying for us the Pentecostal Fruits of the Spirit. Thank you so much to the large team of people , led by Jonathan Fleury, who have organised this wonderful Flower Festival. I share with you a ‘Flower Arrangers Prayer’ I came across, written by Leslie Mitchell;’
May God grant that our hearts, our eyes, and our hands may receive his inspiration, enabling us to glorify his house with the beauty of the leaves and blossoms which he has created.
TODDLERS PLUS ONE GROUP and MONDAY CLUB will not meet tomorrow as we will be clearing up after the Flower Festival!

Youth News- The Youth club joined with members of the Mothers Union for the Monthly Saturday night ‘Sausage Service” at 7pm We shared in the service together and learnt about Timothy and how his mother and grandmother and their Faith in God was very influential on him becoming such a loyal disciple. We also thought about the ‘generations ‘we represented in God’s church family and how St Paul challenged us of the slightly more mature variety (!) to protect the ‘deposit’ of the precious word of the Good News of Jesus Christ and share it with young people and nurture it in them. We then had lovely food and refreshments in the church hall and when the adults left the Youth club had some crazy games and welcomed new members Lynn , Alice , Nicole, Lorna, Alison & Oriel to the group. We followed this up by starting our ‘Movie Night’ as suggested by the young people at our previous meeting. We got the popcorn, pizzas n chewy sweets ready and watched a Pixar animated DVD called “Despicable Me”. It was a great night and thank you to Brenda and her friends who assisted us so well in the kitchen. Our next event will be on Saturday June 1st when Conor will organise a series of Frisbee matches as part of fundraising at the church fete taking place at the same time.(PC)
