Parish Notices Sunday 27th April 2014

The Rector writes: ‘Thank you to everyone who took part in our Holy Week and Easter liturgies. It was a beautiful time and it is only when I look back on some of the photos that were taken that I realise how much we managed to fit in.  Thanks to all who helped with the organisation, whether cooking for the Seder meal, organising the bonfire for the Vigil, running the Easter Club, arranging the additional flowers, getting up at the crack of dawn etc etc etc…Thank you all. It was both memorable and magnetic…. and now……. after just a little pause for breath,  after the 11am Service today we are walking to Drake’s Pool and back on our annual Parish/School sponsored walk! Do please remember to register before hand in the Parish Hall before setting out, this really is essential.  Also please be careful to not let children go too far ahead of you during the walk.  Carrigaline traffic , even on Sunday,  is heavy so please be careful at the crossings.’

Random Notes No.  XCIII

Anyone who is lucky enough to own a chiming clock will be familiar with the warm, comforting and familiar feeling which a regular chime brings to their home. Some original chimes include “St Michael’s Mount”, “Whitehall” and of course “Westminster”. Recently I was told of an old rhyme to be sung to the Westminster chime:-

Say Au Revoir;

And not Goodbye.

For parting brings

A Sorry Sigh”

Sing it out loud!!!
