Parish Notices Sunday 8th November 2015
The Rector writes ‘As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, on November 30th World leaders meet in Paris to finalise a new global deal on climate change. People all over the world are taking to the streets to show that the time for procrastination is over and it is now time to act. Cork is joining in this global day of Climate Action and the rally in Cork begins at the Grand Parade at 2pm on Sunday 29th November. The March will set off promptly at 2.30pm with the route taking in Oliver Plunkett Street, Parnell Place, Merchants Quay, Patrick Street and ending back at the Grand Parade. I think it would be wonderful if as many of us from our Eco Congregation Parish Union as is possible could turn out on Sunday 29th for this local March for Climate Action.’
Some of the Gravestones behind St Mary’s Church have been deemed unstable by our Health & Safety team and are marked with red and white Hazard Tape while the County Council address the problem. Please do not let your children play near these gravestones. Thank you.

Random Notes CXLX
The more astute readers of random notes may very well recognize and recall having already seen eleven of the twelve signatures reproduced below, as eleven were previously used to illustrate the random notes of just over a month ago on October 4th last.
The signatures are those of the curates that served in the parish of Carrigaline from 1830 to 1872, and rather unfortunately, due to a moment of absentmindedness at the time by the ever increasingly fuddled compiler of this note, the text identifying each of the signatures was then rather catastrophically omitted.
There now follows herewith reading from the top to the bottom of the page an identification of each of the signatures:
Revd. John Johnson (1800-1837) Curate,1830-1837
Revd. Alexander Latimer Waring (c.1830-1891)Curate, 1870-1871
