Pew Sheet – 10th November 2024

The Rector writes ‘Today is Remembrance Sunday and there will be a solemn Act of Remembrance at both of the morning Services.

The year is closing in on us so fast! ….. A reminder to sign up on the Posada sheet if you would like the figures of Mary, Joseph and the Donkey to visit your home this Advent. They will begin their journey on Sunday 1st December…I have put the Christmas dates in the ‘Dates for your Diary’ on the back page of this Pewsheet.

There is no Advent online course this year (but in February Bébhinn will give an exciting series of 3 online talks ‘The Music of our Praise – the wonderful world of music for worship’. I’m very much looking forward to it) but for this Advent may I recommend two other online courses.

One is called ‘My Dwelling Place’ mini-retreat and is from CMHI , Churches Ministry for Healing. This will be on Mondays 11:30am till 1pm from November 25th to December 16th. If you are interested, the event is on Eventbrite or email Lydia at lydia@ministryofhealing.ie and tell her I sent you! Another Advent online opportunity is to join with Palestinian Christians each Sunday in Advent at 4pm. These 4 sessions are organised by the group I have often mentioned. ‘Sabeel Ecumenical Liberation Theology Center’ based in Jerusalem. The online series is called ‘Advent Series-Palestine Longing For Hope.’
